Master of Education.

Cum LaudeUniversity of Antwerp

A part-time Master of Education at the University of Antwerp, combined with full-time work. I started applying it in practice straight away, first as a mathematics teacher at Koninklijk Atheneum Ekeren for four months, and later as a trainee at Saint-Gobain Gyproc. The programme covered didactics, pedagogy and educational psychology, with my thesis written for Saint-Gobain on optimising Gyproc training sessions in technical secondary schools.

Alongside that, I completed several teaching placements that brought me close to creative and technical education. At Sint-Lucas Antwerp I guided final-year product design students through their GIP, supporting them as they developed and designed a real product from concept to completion. At Sint-Ursula in Lier I worked with students on their STEM projects, helping them think through practical, hands-on challenges. I also taught art in evening school to 15 and 16 year olds, covering art history, colour theory, painting, screen printing and the methods of well-known artists.

That combination of sport, product thinking and teaching has shaped how I approach design: with curiosity, with empathy for the user, and with a genuine belief that good products can change how people feel about themselves.

Final thesis presentation at Saint-Gobain

Presented the findings of my master's thesis to the team at Saint-Gobain Gyproc, outlining recommendations for optimising their training sessions in technical secondary schools. Thesis title: Analyse en implementatie-perspectieven van een integratieve on-site didactiek: balanceren tussen traditionele didactiek, het gebruik van e-tools en werkplekleren.

STEM project: automated plant watering system

Developed and guided a STEM project in which students built an automated plant watering system using Arduino. Students worked through the full process, from concept and circuitry to programming and testing.

For the STEM course, the students had to build an automated plant watering system with a water container, pump, control box and a potted plant connected by tubing.

Screen printing workshop in evening school

Taught a hands-on screen printing lesson to evening school students aged 15 and 16, walking them through the full process from preparing the screen to pulling the final print.
