Charlotte Hargreaves

Ten years as a professional athlete taught me what it feels like to push your body and find joy in movement, but also what it's like when your body doesn't cooperate.

Along the way, I fell in love with trail running, cycling, Pilates and yoga, and earned a Master's in Product Development and Education. There, I built my design method around Human-Centered Design: hands-on, testing with real people, iterating fast. Now I want to combine both passions, sport and design, wherever product, performance and people meet.

About

A lifetime in sport, translated into product.

For my graduation project, Hotcharlie, that meant working closely with people who had actually turned off their own heating during the energy crisis: the real target group, living the real problem. Being that close let me see immediately what wasn't working, then build the next prototype by hand, test it again with them, and adjust, across four iterations, each verified with a heat sensor.

My first master's also included an interaction design track, where we studied how a hands-on movement carries over into movement in the product itself. Musy, the project I made there, an interactive jukebox pairing a physical mechanism with a screen element, was really about that interplay between the physical world and a screen: focus on a single function, and a movement gains more feeling and drama, and the interaction with the product itself becomes meaningful.

I've kept building hands-on digitally too: at AMOTEK I helped build an immersive experience in Unreal Engine for the funeral sector, together with a team of architects, and I use fast, AI-assisted tools like Lovable and Claude to quickly test landing pages, content and concepts.

That combination, human-centered methodology, an eye for translating physical movement into product feedback, and the marketing and community work I do day to day, is the mix I bring to any team I join.
