Through sketching, prototyping and 3D printing the team came to the final result.

Orbit opening, lip-and-groove connection techniques and a coin roundel providing the rotation — engineered to feel intentional in the hand.
The holder and track are connected via a sliding mechanism.
The track and holder have an opening so that the ribbon with magnet, which is in contact with the coin, can be connected with the gear in the base.
The coin's roundel provides the rotation.
Here is an overview of the parts from the 3D model.
The different parts are positioned correctly via a lip & groove.
We had decided to build a pedestal so that the mechanism and projector remained in a fixed location. We had decided to have a black area in the front and top view for the projection and to make the shape of the prototype stand out in the environment.

The finished Musy — track, coin and mechanism working together — and the scenario sequence that shows how a grandparent and grandchild use it side by side.
